A periodic report on what's happening in my small, but jam-packed garden in coastal Virginia. Major interests include growing uncommon plants, propagation techniques, and adapting gardening methods to suit our somewhat capricious climate in the "transition" zone between the Northern and Southern states.

We will miss you Jeff. Understand though...not enough hours in the day. Come down to the Learning Garden for our plant sale May 2. Would love to say hello...and you might find a plant or two you can't live without.
I hope when school lets out and the gardening season becomes more of one for enjoying and less of one for toiling - you will share again. BTW, I have a Mr. Goldstrike with your name on it at work.
Thanks Les - I'll try to get over there after school one day this week. It shouldn't be hard to find a spot for the Aucuba, since I lost a few things this winter (actually they were probably lost BEFORE winter...), including my prized 15-year old Franklinia. Too much water, too little water, phytophthera, all of these? Who knows...
